扶持の内二人扶持の御役料を下し置かれ、猪苗代士に召し出されたが、芸術修行のため諸勤を仰せ付けられず、小普請料を差し出すよう仰せ出された件
一、文政元年寅年二月 操練に精出し励んだことにより、御褒美として新身の槍一穂を下し置かれた件
一、文政三年辰年四月 武学寮へ怠ることなく出席し、特に精を出して励み、年齢から見て学業が上達したことにより、御褒美として銀子一枚を下し置かれた件
一、同年五月 源八と改名したい旨を願い出て、許可された件
一、同年十月 銃術を修得したことにより、小普請料を免除され、出勤を仰せ付けられ、御城の御番を勤めることとなった件

He was granted a stipend of two-person support within his allowance and summoned to serve as a samurai of Inawashiro, but since he was not assigned various duties for the purpose of studying arts, he was ordered to pay the kom普請料 (construction fee for unemployed samurai).
1. Bunka 1, Year of the Tiger, 2nd month (February 1818): For his diligent efforts in military drill, he was granted a new spear as a reward.
1. Bunka 3, Year of the Dragon, 4th month (April 1820): For attending the military academy without negligence, working particularly hard, and achieving academic progress appropriate for his age, he was granted one silver piece as a reward.
1. Same year, 5th month: His request to change his name to Genpachi was granted.
1. Same year, 10th month: Having mastered gunnery, he was exempted from the komushi fee, appointed to active duty, and assigned to guard duty at the castle.
Chūsaburō Born on the 8th day of the 12th month of Bunka 4, Year of the Rabbit; died of illness on the 7th day of the 1st month of Bunka 5, Year of the Dragon. Buddhist name: Shunpō Zen Dōji. Buried at Anōnji Temple on Mt. Kaiji in Inawashiro.
