...he traveled up [to Edo] with the advance guard.
One entry: In the 2nd month of the 5th year [of Shōtoku], the Year of the Goat, he was appointed as gozen-ban (meal-service attendant) as ordered.
One entry: In the 4th month of the same year, on the occasion of the lord's return to the domain, he served in attendance and traveled back [to Aizu].
One entry: In the 5th month of the same year, he was granted an additional stipend of one ryō in gold, commensurate with his rank as gozen-ban.
One entry: In the 6th month of Kyōhō 1, the Year of the Monkey, on the occasion of the lord's sankin-kōtai journey, he traveled up [to Edo] as part of the advance guard; and in the 4th month of the following Year of the Rooster, on the occasion of the lord's return to the domain, he served in attendance and traveled back [to Aizu].
One entry: In the 4th month of the 3rd year [of Kyōhō], the Year of the Dog, on the occasion of the lord's sankin-kōtai journey, he served in attendance and traveled up [to Edo]; and in the 4th month of the following Year of the Boar, on the occasion of the lord's return to the domain, he traveled back [to Aizu] as part of the advance guard.
