一、六日、天晴れ。
一、七日、天晴れ。板倉周防殿・五味殿の両人が見回りのためにお越しになった。すると、祠官は残らず化安老（ろう）に至るまで出席し、また社家中の宮少（ぐうしょう）をはじめ社頭講衆中も出席した。神前にて彼是（あれこれ）とお尋ねがあったとき、各々から返答があった。両奉行からは、社の儀（造営のこと）についてよくよく念を入れるのがよいとの旨を、大工その他諸役人へお申し渡しがあった。一社（賀茂社全体）の歓喜はこのことに尽きる。
一、八日、昼は晴れ、夜はしばしば曇りしばしば雨。
一、二十日、金右衛門殿が作事（工事）の見回りのためにお越しになり、氏人衆（うじびとしゅう）各々が出席して、諸事について談合があった。社司は祢宜職の儀につき悉く（ことごとく）出京しているため、出席されなかった。今日、禁裏より仙院へのお文（おふみ）があった。文言はここでは略す。
一、二十五日、金右衛門殿がお越しの際に、「仮遷宮（かりせんぐう）は当年中に（終わりが）間に合わないのではないか」とお尋ねになったところ、用久（ようきゅう）が進み出て申し上げるには、「年越しにすることはできない（今年中に済ませることが難しい）」との返答があった。一社中（社中の人々）は、「天正年中の造営の時も、天正十八年五月二十一日に仮遷宮があり、翌年七月二日に正遷宮（本遷宮）があった。このような（経緯は）まったく知らないことを、憚りなく（臆面もなく）返答されたことは、当奉行をたばかる（欺く）つもりではないか」と、各々申した。
一、二十九日、天晴れ。板倉周防殿が見回りのためにお越しになった。

Item: The sixth day, clear skies.
Item: The seventh day, clear skies. Lord Itakura Suruga and Lord Gomi both came to make an inspection visit. Thereupon, all shrine officials (shikan), including the elder Kaan, were present, and from among the shrine families (shake), the Miyashō and others including the members of the shrine assembly (shatō-kōshū) also attended. Various matters were inquired into before the deity's presence, and each party gave their responses. The two commissioners (bugyō) instructed the carpenters and other workers involved to apply themselves with due diligence to the affairs of the shrine's construction. This was a matter of great joy for the entire shrine.
Item: The eighth day, clear during the day, frequently cloudy and rainy at night.
Item: The twentieth day, Lord Kinemon came to inspect the construction works, and the members of the shrine's uji-people (ujibito-shū) all attended, holding deliberations on various matters. The shrine priests (shashi) did not attend, as they had all gone up to the capital in connection with affairs relating to the priestly positions (negi-shoku). On this day, a letter was received from the Imperial Palace (kinri) addressed to the Retired Emperor's residence (sen'in). The wording is omitted here.
Item: The twenty-fifth day. Upon the occasion of Lord Kinemon's visit, he inquired as to whether the temporary enshrinement ceremony (kari-sengū) could be completed within the current year. Yōkyū stepped forward and replied that it would not be possible to carry it out by the year's end. The members of the entire shrine community remarked among themselves: "Even during the Tenshō period construction, there was a temporary enshrinement on the twenty-first day of the fifth month of Tenshō 18 [1590], followed by the formal enshrinement (shō-sengū) on the second day of the seventh month of the following year. To reply without hesitation about such matters — matters of which he knows nothing whatsoever — surely amounts to deceiving the current commissioner."
