騒動始りの事
既に浅間の謀計によつて関東みぢんと
なりあまたの天狗|愚貧(グヒン)等命から〳〵逃隠れ
漸事閑まつて彼処の巌保(イワヲ)爰の木の
現代語訳
すぐに土蔵を開き、自分の家で使う分だけを片隅に残しておき、残りは残らず貸してあげましょうとのことで、麦・米・雑穀に至るまで百俵余りを、証文も取らずに、時節が来たればその時に返済してくれればよいとして、快く用立ててくれた。このように物を蓄えた者はみなかくあるべきものである。これを見習い、近在の穴原・高の町中・小田切・条地・大日向辺りの土地の寺方・在家も、それぞれの冥加相応に、ある者は南鐐一片ずつ、またある者は米籾三斗・二斗、または五升・三升ずつの援助をしてくれた人々も多くいたのである。

She immediately opened the storehouse, set aside only what her own household would need in one corner, and declared she would lend out all the rest. Wheat, rice, and miscellaneous grains amounting to more than a hundred bales — all this she offered without even taking a promissory note, saying that repayment could be made whenever circumstances allowed. How readily she provided for those in need. Those who possess stored goods should all be like this. Following her example, people from the nearby areas of Anahara, Taka-no-machi, Odagiri, Jōchi, Ōhinata, and surrounding temple communities and village households also offered assistance according to their own means and good fortune — some giving one piece of silver coin (nanryō), others offering three or two to of unhulled rice, or even five or three shō each. Many indeed were those who lent their aid.
