村送りにそ成にける明れは十月三日早
朝に案内しや梵天を持て次郎右衛門か庭
にうづくまり此度の騒動は我々か存る
所々あらず案内せずはやきはらへとの事
故に無據斯の通りと云内にはや大勢乱
入水もたまらず打潰し直に平賀へ案内
せよとさわぎわたつて引返す平賀は松本
御領所にて御奉行唯壱人にて如何せんと

思案有しか役所へ対し無礼あらば百姓迚も
その分に難＿レ成けれ共唯民家のさわぎさして
きびしく相｜防（フセ）ぐに不及と思召松え城へ飛脚
を以て此趣きを御通達有けるにぞかくてさうどふ
平賀へ懸り大道せばしと入乱れこれゟ中込村
種月院へあん内せよと呼て凡天を先にたて
何事なく通りしと思ふ内いつの間にか質や宇

村送りとなったのである。明けて十月三日の早朝、案内役が梵天を持って次郎右衛門の庭にうずくまり、「この度の騒動は我々が望むところではなく、案内しなければ打ち払えとのことであったため、やむを得ずこのようにしております」と言う内に、すでに大勢が乱入し、水も溜まらぬほどの勢いで打ち潰し、直ちに「平賀へ案内せよ」と騒ぎ渡って引き返した。

平賀は松本御領所であって、御奉行はただ一人であり、いかがすべきかと思案したが、「役所に対して無礼があれば、百姓とはいえそのままには済まされないが、ただ民家の騒ぎであればさほど厳しく防ぐには及ばない」とお考えになり、松本城へ飛脚をもってこの趣きを御通達になった。

かくして騒動は平賀へ及び、大道を狭しと乱れ入り、「これより中込村の種月院へ案内せよ」と呼んで梵天を先頭に立て、何事もなく通り過ぎたと思う内に、いつの間にか質屋宇右衛門の宅へ乱入し、家内を残らず踏み荒らしたので、役人が

At dawn on the third day of the tenth month, the guide, carrying the bonten banner, crouched in Jiro Uemon's garden and said, "This disturbance is not something we ourselves desire; we were told to guide them or be beaten down ourselves, and so we have no choice but to do as you see." Before he had even finished speaking, the large crowd had already stormed in, destroying everything with unstoppable force, then immediately cried out "Guide us to Hiraga!" and turned back in an uproar.

Hiraga was under the jurisdiction of Matsumoto domain, and its magistrate, being only one man, deliberated over what to do. He concluded: "If the rioters commit any disrespect toward the official offices, even peasants cannot be let off lightly; however, since this is merely a disturbance directed at private residences, there is no pressing need to suppress it too harshly." He then dispatched a messenger by express courier to Matsumoto Castle to report the situation.

Thus the disturbance spread to Hiraga, the mob flooding in and filling the main road. They called out "Guide us from here to Tanetsukin Temple in Nakagomi Village!" and set off with the bonten banner at their head.
