も勒？れはて夫より種自然へ押寄大勢
ふみ入けれ共人壱人も見へず唯本尊計
ぞおわしける然は委細本尊に承わらん
と仏前に立はだかり如何に本堂住僧は何
国に懸る穀を買たかかわぬかと問共更に答へ
なし此本尊は有無の返事もせずだまつて
居てハ事済ぬと仏だんに懸上りどふた〳〵と打
扣く金仏ならは本尊もかわん〳〵とおつしやろが
木佛故にたゝかれてかつた〳〵といふ故にそりや社
買たに相違かなゐと因果も知ぬ下郎共
弁人もなくあわれ立一切｜宮殿（クウデン）しゆみ｜荘厳（シヤウゴン）
大野五こうもみぢんにして天竜夜叉のあれ
たか如くあそこら爰らに乱入きんならまごとを踏
荒し情も知ぬ人非人客殿方丈｜庫裡眠蔵（クリメンゾウ）
あたるをさいわひふみかわしふもんほんだい
経見台なむたみとうみやうけちらかし金
現代語訳
も困り果てて、それより種月院へ押し寄せ大勢が
踏み入ったけれども、人一人も見えず、ただ本尊だけが
いらっしゃった。それなら詳細を本尊にお聞きしようと
仏前に立ちはだかり、「どうだ、本堂の住職は何処の
国にかかる穀物を買ったか、買わなかったか」と問うても全く答えが
ない。この本尊は有る無しの返事もせず黙って
いては事が済まないと仏壇に駆け上がり、どうだどうだと打ち
叩く。金仏ならば本尊も「痛い痛い」とおっしゃるだろうが、
木仏故に叩かれて「痛い痛い」というので、「それでは確かに
買ったに違いない」と、因果も知らない下郎どもが
弁解する人もなく、哀れにも立派な宮殿や須弥壇、荘厳な
大きな五光紅葉を微塵にして、天竜や夜叉が荒れ狂った
かのようにあちこちに乱入し、金のお飾りや真言を踏み
荒らし、情けも知らない人でなしが客殿、方丈、庫裡、眠蔵に
当たるを幸いに踏み回し、仏門の本尊や
経机なども無惨にも散らかし、金

were also at their wit's end. From there, a large crowd rushed to Shugetsuin Temple and
trampled in, but not a single person could be seen - only the principal Buddha statue
remained. "Then we shall ask the details from the principal Buddha," they said,
standing defiantly before the Buddha, asking "How about it - did the head priest of this temple
buy grain from what country, or did he not?" But there was no answer at all.
"This principal Buddha gives no yes or no response, and if it just stays silent,
this matter cannot be resolved," so they climbed up onto the Buddhist altar and struck it,
saying "How about it? How about it?" "If this were a golden Buddha, the principal Buddha would probably cry out 'It hurts! It hurts!', but
since it's a wooden Buddha, when struck it says 'It hurts! It hurts!', so surely
it must have bought grain!" These lowly fellows who knew nothing of karma, with
no one to speak in defense, pitifully destroyed the magnificent palace buildings, the Sumidan altar, and the solemn
large five-colored autumn leaves, reducing them to fragments. Like heavenly dragons and demons running wild,
they rampaged here and there, trampling down golden ornaments and mantras,
these heartless inhuman beings taking advantage of the guest hall, abbot's quarters, kitchen, and storage buildings
to trample about, scattering even the Buddhist
