お雑煮、お吸い物での御祝いがあり、御帰殿された。
昌親様も御本丸へ入られ、右同様に御祝いがあった。
一、正月三日（六時） 御宮、御仏殿並びに浄光院華蔵寺へ御参詣された。
御帰殿後、諸士の年始の御礼をお受けになった。
一、同日 御謡初めのため御祝儀として御使者をもって例の通り御盃台、御酒代を献上した。
一、同月七日 御書初めのため御使者をもって例の通り御肴（鯛三尾）を献上した。
一、同月九日 清姫様が御安産で御女子が御誕生され、政姫様と称し奉る。
（後に豊姫、朋姫と御改めになった）
一、同月十一日 年始三ヶ日の御規式が相済んだため御祝儀として江戸表へ御使者を出し、御肴一種を献上した。
ただし同月二十五日に右の御返書の御渡しがあった。
一、同月十八日 御参勤の御時節をお伺いするため江戸表へ御使者を指し出された。
右御使者は今日福井を出立した。
ただし右御使者の江戸着日は不詳である。
一、同月二十二日 清姫様の御安産につき御祝儀のため御使い皆川平右衛門勝郷をもって清姫様へ昆布一箱、鯣一箱、御樽一荷、政姫様へ御産衣二重、昆布一箱、干鯛一箱、御樽一荷を献上した。

there was a celebration with New Year's soup and clear soup, after which [the lord] returned to the palace.
Lord Masachika also entered the main keep and had the same celebration.
1. January 3rd (six o'clock): [The lord] made worship visits to the shrine, Buddhist hall, and to Jōkōin Kezōji temples.
After returning to the palace, he received New Year's greetings from the retainers.
1. Same day: For the first Noh chanting ceremony of the year, ceremonial sake cups and money for sake were presented through a messenger as usual for the celebration.
1. Same month, 7th: For the first calligraphy ceremony, ceremonial delicacies (three sea bream) were presented through a messenger as usual.
1. Same month, 9th: Lady Kiyohime safely gave birth to a daughter, who was named Princess Masa.
(Later renamed Princess Toyo, then Princess Tomo)
1. Same month, 11th: As the three-day New Year ceremonies were completed, a messenger was sent to Edo as congratulations, presenting one type of delicacy.
However, a reply letter was delivered on the 25th of the same month.
1. Same month, 18th: A messenger was sent to Edo to inquire about the timing of the required attendance (sankin-kōtai).
This messenger departed from Fukui today.
However, the date of the messenger's arrival in Edo is unknown.
1. Same month, 22nd: For congratulations on Lady Kiyohime's safe delivery, through messenger Minagawa Heiuemon Katsusato, the following were presented: to Lady Kiyohime - one box of kelp, one box of dried squid, one load of sake barrels; to Princess Masa - double birth robes, one box of kelp, one box of dried sea bream, one load of sake barrels.
