現代語訳
を尽くして戦い、同年八月一日、行年四十二歳にて討死いたしました。宗明の男子を茂兵衛宗忠と申します。父宗明討死の次第が御聴に達し、甲賀の士が帰陣の後、各々御吟味を遂げられ、宗忠に対して甲賀において御知行四百石を下し置かれ、御用の節には馳せ参じるべき旨を本多佐渡守様を以て仰せ聞かされました。
権現様が関東へ御下向の節、江州古山において道阿弥の取次を以て太刀・折紙にて御礼・御目見いたしました。伏見あるいは江州水口にて山岡主計の取次を以て御目見いたしました。大坂両度の御陣にも甲賀より同心を召し連れ御軍役を相勤めました。御出陣の砌、京都において御目見いたしました。宗清の二男を伊左衛門尉宗之と申しますが、知行三百石にて脇坂家に御奉公いたしました。

He fought with all his might and died in battle on the first day of the eighth month of the same year at the age of forty-two. Muneaki's son was called Mohei Munetada. When the circumstances of his father Muneaki's death in battle reached the lord's ears, after the Kōga warriors returned from the campaign, each underwent examination, and Munetada was granted a fief of 400 koku in Kōga, with orders conveyed through Honda Sado-no-kami that he should rush to serve when needed.
When Gongen-sama (Tokugawa Ieyasu) went down to the Kantō region, at Koyama in Ōmi Province, through the intermediary Dōami, he presented a sword and formal documents and had an audience. At Fushimi or at Minakuchi in Ōmi Province, through the intermediary Yamaoka Kazue, he had an audience. During both Osaka campaigns, he led troops from Kōga and performed military service. During the campaign, he had an audience in Kyoto. Munekiyo's second son, called Izaemon-no-jō Muneyuki, served the Wakisaka family with a fief of 300 koku.
