廿三日 十手へ古御几帳 御簾ノ縁白糸ノ紐薄
絹油単以下天正弘治寛永等ノ古物悉油単
十手へ配分社司氏人家々へ以鬮取支配也或
後日ニ有之手モ有之
一掛角ハ何物ソ 答昔伊勢海歟毎夜怪光
有之于時天皇有僉儀而軒廊ノ御占海底ニ
上古ノ劔可有之也 海士人ヲ入御覧被成処如
案此掛角ノ形ノ御劔アリ此形ヲ二ニ割テ劔ヲ
仕出又劔ヲ二ニ割テ太刀ヲ打出以後ニ鉾
長刀鑓等ハ出来物也今天下ニ三種神宝ヲ用ル

二十二日 寄合（会議）があった。私は遅参した。
柊野（ひいらぎの）の申し分について、尾方平衛門からの申し立てがあった。
官幣（かんぺい）の入った長持ちをはじめ、各品を入札にかけることになった。
二十三日 十手（とって／御手洗いの場所か）へ、古い御几帳・御簾の縁に用いる白糸の紐・薄絹の油単（あぶらたん）をはじめ、天正・弘治・寛永等の時代の古い物をことごとく油単に包んで十手へ配分し、社司・氏人の各家々へくじ引きによって分配した。あるいは後日に行うものもあった。
一、掛角（かけつの）とはいかなる物か。 答え：昔、伊勢の海であろうか、毎夜不思議な光があった。その時、天皇が評議を行われ、軒廊（のきろう）でお占いをなさったところ、海の底に上古（大昔）の剣があるはずだとのことであった。海士（あま）を入れてご覧になったところ、思った通り、この掛角の形をした御剣があった。この形を二つに割って剣を作り出し、さらに剣を二つに割って太刀を打ち出した。それ以後、鉾・長刀・槍などはそこから生まれた物である。今、天下において三種の神宝を用いる社は、おおよそ当社（賀茂社）のみであろうか。
二十五日 昨夜まで続いていた雨天が今日は晴れた。今暁（今朝の明け方）に風が吹いた。

23rd Day: To the "totte" [a designated place], ancient御几帳 (御几帳, ceremonial curtain stands), white silk cords for the borders of御簾 (sudare, blinds), thin silk oil covers (aburatan), and other ancient articles from the Tenshō, Kōji, and Kan'ei eras were all wrapped in oil covers and distributed to the "totte." They were then allocated by lottery to the households of shrine priests (shashi) and ujibito (clan members associated with the shrine). Some distributions were deferred to a later date.
One item: What is a "kaketsuno" (掛角, hanging horn)? Answer: Long ago, in the sea of Ise (perhaps), a mysterious light appeared every night. At that time, the Emperor held a deliberation, and a divination was performed at the nokiro (a covered corridor of the palace). The oracle indicated that an ancient sword from time immemorial lay at the bottom of the sea. Divers (ama) were sent to investigate, and sure enough, a sacred sword in the shape of this "kaketsuno" was found. This shape was split in two to create a sword (ken), and then the sword was split in two to produce a tachi (long sword). From this point forward, spears (hoko), naginata (halberd), yari (lance), and other weapons came into being. Today, among all shrines in the land, it is perhaps only our shrine (Kamo Shrine) that makes use of the three sacred treasures (sanshu no shinpō).
