(Continued from previous page) — Gonnokami, Gyōken, Kurannosuke, Ujizamurai Uhyōe, and Ujishō: three persons in all. General construction works (普請) 〈interlinear note: at various flood-damaged sites〉.
27th: The dismantling of the temporary shrine (権社) concerns the old sanctuary building (古御殿). From today, the sewing and cutting of the sacred garments (御神服縫裁) again commences. Starting from today, it is decided that assembly meetings (寄合) shall be held six times per month, settled on the days of the 2nd and 7th (i.e., the 2nd, 7th, 12th, 17th, 22nd, and 27th of each month). The regular nairan (内覧) accounting assembly is held.
I (the author) did not attend. Approximately twenty matters were reportedly presented.
28th: Kanemasु and those before (御前) at Kibune-hata went up for a general cleaning.
The day before yesterday, the shrine chief (神主) and the administrative official (雑掌) attended upon the Tensō (伝奏, court liaison) to petition regarding the date and time of the Shōsengū (正遷宮, the formal transfer/enshrinement ceremony).
Since the day before yesterday, the sewing and cutting of the sacred garments has been taking place at the Hoka-tei (保可亭).
The receipt of the sacred garments (御服) is handled by five magistrates (奉行): Shoshi (所司), Fukunao (福直), Tsuki-bugyō (月奉行), Nobuhisa (順久), and Sakunao (作直). In general, the magistrates (奉行) overseeing the sewing and cutting of the sacred garments are: Shoshi (所司), Mōdai (目代), Azukari (預), Bettō (別当), ■Ken (■健), and the Gofukusho (御服所) — six persons in total.
The leftover cut fabric (余切) from the sewing, and the receipt of the sacred garments, are divided and received between these five and six persons. Moreover, when the process takes place at the shrine chief's residence, the shrine chief also receives (a share of the leftover fabric). All shares are equal (等分). In ancient times (上古), the sewing and cutting took place at the Ofudaya (御札屋), and thereafter it was conducted at the Chōya (庁屋, administrative building).
