現代語訳
一、元禄三午年（月は不詳）、森山左近衛門が射芸のために京都へ上られた際、樋口友右衛門とともに付き添い、自費にて上京し、堂前にて千射を行った。翌未年に江戸へ下られた折、江戸表において若年ながら見事な働きをしたとのことで、お褒めの言葉をいただき、御目見を仰せ付けられた。
一、同六酉年三月、射芸が優れているとして、ご褒美として銀子五枚を下し置かれた。
一、同八亥年十二月、射芸を怠らず稽古に励んだことにより、十人扶持を下し置かれ、召し出されて、席は小番の上に仰せ付けられた。
一、同十六未年九月、並の御擬作二十五石・四人扶持を下されて、御供番に仰せ付けられた。
一、宝永元酉年四月、御参勤に際して供奉勤番のため上京し、一陣を相勤め、帰国した。
一、同二酉年三月、御下向の節、立ち帰りのため上京し、御供として帰国した。

One entry: In the third year of Genroku, the year of the Horse (month unknown), when Moriyama Sakonemon traveled to Kyoto for archery practice, [Takahashi Banzō] accompanied him along with Higuchi Tomoemon, traveling at his own expense, and performed one thousand arrow shots before the hall. Upon the party's return the following year (the year of the Sheep), while in Edo, he was commended for his fine conduct despite his youth, and was granted an audience (o-mimai) with the lord.
One entry: In the sixth year of the same era (Genroku 6, the year of the Rooster), in the third month, for his excellence in archery, he was awarded five pieces of silver as a reward.
One entry: In the eighth year (Genroku 8, the year of the Boar), in the twelfth month, for his diligent and unceasing archery practice, he was granted a stipend of ten persons' rations (jūnin fuchi), was summoned into service, and his rank was appointed above that of Kobан (small guard duty).
One entry: In the sixteenth year of the same era (Genroku 16, the year of the Sheep), in the ninth month, he was granted the standard allotment of 25 koku (gizaku) and a stipend of four persons' rations, and was appointed to the position of Otomo-ban (escort guard).
One entry: In the first year of Hōei, the year of the Rooster (1704), fourth month, in connection with the lord's alternate attendance (sankин), he traveled up [to Edo] to serve as escort guard, completed the first rotation of duty, and returned.
One entry: In the second year of the same era (Hōei 2), the year of the Rooster, third month, upon the lord's return journey, he traveled up [to meet the procession] and returned accompanying the lord's escort.
