【右丁】
御樽酒を一目（ひとめ）いただいたことにより、出入りの者へ振る舞い申し候ところ、今年は御酒の質が良くないと、御役人の方々の中からご指摘がありました。
総じて権太郎の様子について御入用のことがあるようですが、表書きとは相違している、とのことをお話しくださったと六右衛門が申し聞かせました。これにより、外聞にも関わりますので、今後は諸品を四斗詰めにてお送りになるようにしたく存じます。伊勢屋を呼び寄せ、段々と問い合わせましたところ、以前より依田・片田（信濃守）の分の交金（こうきん）についてお申し付けいただき、相済み来たっていると申し聞かせました。もっとも、御買方の七右衛門殿にも承り合わせ候ところ、左の通りでございます、とのこと。
しかれば、少々値段において御徳用（お得）がございましても、今後は諸品を四斗詰めにてお送りになるようにしたいと申し上げました。
四月十一日
一、飯嶋より久兵衛が七ツ時（午後4時頃）に帰参いたしました。即刻、十蔵殿のところへまかり越し、ご届けを申し上げました。
十四日
一、御用として差し出され、左の通り。

We received a barrel of sake as a courtesy, and served it to those who frequent the office. However, it was noted by several officials that the quality of the sake this year was poor.
Regarding the overall circumstances of Gontarō, there appears to be some matter of concern, but it seems to differ from what was written on the cover label—so reported Rokuemon in his account. As this could affect our public reputation, we would like to arrange for all items to be sent henceforth in four-to (四斗) casks. We summoned Iseya and made inquiries, and were told that, as has been the practice going back some time, the exchange gold (kōkin) for the Yoda and Katada (Shinano-no-Kami) portions had been arranged and settled. We also confirmed this with Shichirōemon of the purchasing section (okaigata), and received the response as noted to the left.
Therefore, even if there might be a slight price advantage otherwise, we would like going forward for all goods to be dispatched in four-to casks, as we have proposed.
4th Month, 11th Day
- Kyūhei returned from Iijima at the Hour of the Rooster (around 4 p.m.). We immediately proceeded to Jūzō's residence and reported the matter.
