Reported by Renkyū
Item: Upon attending the Imperial Liaison (Gidensō) as summoned, the Imperial Liaison returned late in the evening and conveyed the following:
Regarding the official ranks that had been petitioned during this period, the Buddhist clerical ranks that had also been simultaneously submitted were all granted imperial sanction. Furthermore, regarding the resignation of the shrine priest that had been petitioned during this period, the Regent stated: "The request of the Tomino shrine priest to be relieved of his duties is granted as requested. Regarding Hayashi Sanmi [Third Rank], while there appears to be some circumstance resembling a hereditary post at the time of the promotion petition, it cannot necessarily be called a hereditary post. As the lord is presently still a young child, a thorough investigation is difficult. For the time being, on this occasion, [he] shall be transferred from Gon-negi to Sei-negi, and this shall not become a precedent for the future." As this pronouncement was issued, it was relayed that this matter should be received with reverence. The content of the directives has been duly noted. Those granted official ranks will attend to pay their respects tomorrow.
Additionally, regarding the transfer following the relieving of the shrine priest's duties, as mentioned privately, since this matter has also been petitioned to the Magistrate's Office (Bugyōsho), I inquired whether the intent of the instruction should also be communicated to the Magistrate's Office, to which the reply was, "Indeed, it should be communicated to the warrior authority as well," and [the Imperial Liaison] withdrew, and so forth.
Item: The matter of Renkyū and Sueki bringing in person a written oral statement to the Nijō Magistrate's Office (Nijō Bugyōsho), regarding the petition for a land exchange and also regarding the relief from shrine priest duties and the circumstances of the consequent transfer.
Respectfully submitted as an oral statement:
The day before yesterday, upon being summoned by the Kamo Imperial Liaison, Lord Bōjō Chūnagon, and receiving his directives: Regarding the matter of the resignation from the shrine priest position by Tomino Sanmi [Third Rank], which had been privately communicated, it is to be approved. Regarding the matter of the transfer of Shōhōri Hayashi Sanmi, it is to be left as is for the time being; the other parties are to carry out their transfers on this occasion, and this shall not become a precedent for future [cases]...
