一 同日、昨(巳)年の米価高騰に際し、城下の町人たちの願いにより米三百俵をお貸しになり、先月までに上納が済んでいたところ、当年も米・諸物価ともに高騰し、困窮している者が数多くいるとのことで、貸米六百俵の願いが出されたため、ご吟味の上、下行米三百俵をお下し、その他に二百俵をお貸しになった。
一 十二月十九日、御名を「伊予守様」とお改めになり、御座之間において本多修理(恒久)・荻野孫右衛門(政対)へ、お祝いの赤飯・お吸い物のお相伴をお申し付けになり、お盃をお下しになった。
一 同日、御用番・松平紀伊守(信庸)殿および井上河内守(正峯)殿へ御勤めになり、御任官のお礼と御改名のご報告を申し述べられ、阿部豊後守(正喬)殿へもご報告のため御勤めになった。残る老中・御側御用人・若年寄の方々へは御使者として御留守居・御使番を差し出された。
一 同日、右同断につき、京都所司代・水野和泉守(忠元)殿へお手紙を遣わされた。

Thereafter, as an expression of gratitude, he made courtesy rounds to the Senior Councilors (Rōjū), the Sobayōnin (Senior Chamberlains), and the Wakadoshiyori (Junior Councilors), while dispatching messengers via the御使番 (messenger officials) to the Sobashū (Chamberlains).
One entry: On the same day, at the summons of Senior Councilor Abe Bungo-no-kami (Masataka), the domain's Rusuiyaku (caretaker official) Ōzeki Shingorōemon (Naomi) attended, whereupon he was handed a written notice stating that the previously communicated matter of the name change could be carried out at his lordship's convenience.
One entry: On the same day, in response to last year (the Year of the Snake) having seen high rice prices, 300 bales of rice had been lent to the townspeople of the castle town upon their petition, and repayment had been completed by last month. However, since this year also saw high prices for rice and various goods, with many people in hardship, a petition was submitted requesting a loan of 600 bales of rice. After deliberation, 300 bales were granted as relief rice (kōgyōmai), and an additional 200 bales were provided as a loan.
One entry: On the 19th day of the 12th month, his lordship changed his name to "Iyo-no-kami-sama," and in the御座之間 (audience chamber), Honda Shuri (Tsunehisa) and Ogino Magouemon (Masamuku) were invited to share a celebratory meal of red rice (sekihan) and soup, and were presented with cups of sake.
One entry: On the same day, his lordship paid his respects to the duty Senior Councilor Matsudaira Kii-no-kami (Nobuyasu) and to Inoue Kawachi-no-kami (Masamine), conveying his gratitude for the official appointment and announcing his name change. He also paid a visit to Abe Bungo-no-kami (Masataka) to announce the name change. To the remaining Senior Councilors, Sobayōnin, and Wakadoshiyori, he dispatched messengers through the Rusuiyaku and messenger officials.
One entry: On the same day, in connection with the above, a letter was dispatched to the Kyoto Shoshidai (Kyoto Deputy), Mizuno Izumi-no-kami (Tadamoto).
