英語訳
Permission to depart (for the domain) was granted by the Shōgun's messenger, and [the lord] received the customary gifts of silver and a lined garment (the messenger's conduct was as per custom). As a gesture of gratitude for this, [the lord] paid a formal visit to [Toda] Yamashiro-no-kami.
Item: On the same day (just past the fifth hour [around 8 a.m.]), [the lord] proceeded to Edo Castle to offer thanks for the granted departure, and received the customary gift of a horse. Thereafter, Honda Shuri (Tsunehisa), who had accompanied [the lord] as an attendant, was granted an audience [with the Shōgun], and upon his withdrawal, Shuri was granted an honorary garment (jifuku). Once these proceedings were concluded, [the lord] made the rounds in person to offer thanks to the Senior Councilors (Rōjū), the Chamberlains (Osoba-goyōnin), and the Junior Councilors (Wakadoshiyori).
Item: On the sixteenth day of the fourth month, [the lord] met with Senior Councilor Kuze Yamato-no-kami (Shigeyuki).
Item: On the seventeenth day of the fourth month: In observance of the hundredth memorial service of Tōshōgū [the deified Tokugawa Ieyasu], a Buddhist memorial ceremony was conducted at the Manpukuzan Shrine from the morning of the previous day (the sixteenth) through this morning.
Item: On the eighteenth day of the fourth month: The yagashiki (a holding facility/estate) of Matsudaira Kai-no-kami (Yoshisato), which had previously been placed under [our domain's] custody, was this time granted to Sakai Saemon-no-suke (Tadazane). Officials were dispatched today, and in the presence of construction magistrate officials, the property was transferred to Saemon-no-suke's retainers. The remaining portion continued to be held in custody as before.
Item: On the same day, [the lord] visited the Duty Senior Councilor Kuze Yamato-no-kami (Shigeyuki), the Chamberlain Manabe Echizen-no-kami (Akifusa), and Honda Nakatsukasa-no-taifu (Tadayoshi) to express congratulations that the Nikkō memorial service had concluded successfully. Messenger officials (otsukai-ban) were dispatched as envoys to the remaining Senior Councilors and Junior Councilors.
