越前国御預所・大野郡宝慶寺村・宝慶寺の儀、右同国にて土井甲斐守殿・真部若狭守殿ならびに金森兵部少輔殿の領分の百姓と山論の儀これ有り候につき、右三ヶ所の役人中へ、此方の役人共が数度申し談じ候えども、内々にて相済まず申さず候につき、宝慶寺の儀、御当地へ■罷り出で候。今日、出訴いたす筈に御座候。宜しく御指図なされくだされ候。この段、国許より申し遣わし候由。

Item: On the fourth day of the ninth month, as Hōkyōji Temple, located in Hōkyōji Village, Ōno District — a territory under domain stewardship (o-azukari-dokoro) — had come up to the capital [Edo] in connection with a dispute over mountain rights (san-ron), the domain's Resident Deputy (o-rusuii) Arakawa Jūzaemon (Naoaki) submitted the following written communication to the Commissioner of Temples and Shrines (Jisha-bugyō), Ōoka Echizen-no-kami (Tadasuke):
Regarding Hōkyōji Temple in Hōkyōji Village, Ōno District, Echizen Province — a territory under domain stewardship — a dispute over mountain rights (san-ron) has arisen between the said temple and peasants (hyakushō) from the domains of Doi Kai-no-kami, Manabe Wakasa-no-kami, and Kanamori Hyōbu-no-Shōyu, all within the same province. Our domain's officials have repeatedly discussed the matter informally with officials from those three domains, but it has not been resolved through private negotiation. Accordingly, Hōkyōji Temple has come up to the capital [Edo] ■ and is scheduled to file a formal complaint (shutsuso) today. We respectfully request your guidance in this matter. This has been reported to us from the home domain.
