鎌倉御所の西侍の上に（人々が）集まった未の刻（午後2時頃）に地震。22日、武将が占わせなさったところ、重大な変事があるとの由を申したため、相模守の家にお入りになった。9月6日、丑の刻（午前2時頃）大地震。8日、寅の刻（午前4時頃）また大きく揺れる。11日、寅の刻、同様にまた小揺れあり。13日・14日・16日も揺れる。17日は三度揺れる。21日、御祈りとして三万六千の神々への祭祀は親職が、地震祭は宣賢が奉行した。
【四条天皇・文暦】2年（1235年）4月13日、午の刻（正午頃）に地震。同28日、未の刻（午後2時頃）に地震。29日、同じ刻に地震。8日、御祈祷・徳政の御沙汰あり。
【仁治】2年（1241年）2月7日、巳の刻（午前10時頃）大地震。古老の言うことには、去る建暦年中（1211〜1213年）に今のような大揺れがあった。

【伏見天皇・永仁】元年（1293年）4月13日、寅の刻（午前4時頃）大地震。山崩れ、家が倒壊し、死ぬ者はその数を知らず。鎌倉の大悲寺の丈六堂をはじめ、つぶれ埋まり、寿福寺・円覚寺は倒れて焼けた。各所の倒壊は数え難し。死人二万千二十四人。【北条記】
【後伏見天皇・正安】元年（1299年）4月25日、大地震。摂津国の四天王寺の金堂が倒壊し、洛東の南禅寺の堂が倒れた。五畿内で死人一万余。【本朝年代記】

An earthquake occurred at the Hour of the Sheep (around 2:00 PM), when people had gathered in the upper western samurai hall of the Kamakura Palace. On the 22nd, after the military lord had divination performed and was informed that this portended a grave event, he retired to the residence of the Governor of Sagami. On the 6th day of the 9th month, a great earthquake at the Hour of the Ox (around 2:00 AM). On the 8th, another great tremor at the Hour of the Tiger (around 4:00 AM). On the 11th, at the Hour of the Tiger, another small tremor likewise. Tremors also on the 13th, 14th, and 16th. On the 17th, tremors three times. On the 21st, prayers were offered: Chikamoto officiated the festival to thirty-six thousand deities, and Nobugata served as magistrate for the earthquake ritual.
**[Shijo Emperor / Bunryaku]** 2nd year (1235), 13th day of the 4th month: earthquake at the Hour of the Horse (around noon). 28th of the same month: earthquake at the Hour of the Sheep (around 2:00 PM). 29th: earthquake at the same hour. On the 8th, prayers were offered and deliberations on benevolent governance were held.
**[Ninji]** 2nd year (1241), 7th day of the 2nd month: great earthquake at the Hour of the Snake (around 10:00 AM). According to the elders, there was a great tremor like this during the Kenryaku era (1211–1213).
(Interlinear note: Referring specifically to the 1st year of Kenpō [1213]) — This, they say, was an omen of the rebellion of Wada Saemon-no-jō Yoshimori. (And so forth.) On the same day, two small tremors occurred at the Hour of the Horse and the Hour of the Rat. On the 8th, another tremor at the Hour of the Snake. Among these events, a blue flame was said to have burst from the cracks in the ground near Gebabashi (the "Dismounting Bridge"). On the 4th day of the 9th month, light rain fell, and an earthquake occurred at the Hour of the Monkey (around 4:00 PM). Since the great tremor of the previous month, tremors have continued without cease to this day.
**[Emperor Fushimi / Einin]** 1st year (1293), 13th day of the 4th month, Hour of the Tiger (around 4:00 AM): great earthquake. Mountains collapsed, houses were destroyed, and the number of deaths was beyond counting. Starting with the jōroku hall of Daihi-ji temple in Kamakura, buildings were crushed and buried; Jufuku-ji and Engaku-ji collapsed and burned.
