**鸐雉（やまどり）** 山鳥（ヤマトリ）《俗名》 山鶏
山雉 鸐鶏 《『禽経』より》
『七巻食経』に曰く、
山鶏《別名》鵁䴊 《和名》夜万土利（やまとり）
今、按ずるに、山鶏と鵔䴊とは種類それぞれ異なり、
『漢書』の注に見えるところでは、鵕䴊はすなわち金鶏（きんけい）である。

Sanzei / Tekikei 《from the *Kinkyō*》
The *Shichikan Shokukyō* states:
"Mountain Pheasant" 《alternate name》: Jiāoyú; 《Japanese reading》: Yamatöri (夜万土利)
Upon reflection, the Mountain Pheasant (*sankei*) and the *Junyi* (*鵔䴊*) are each of different species.
As seen in the commentary to the *Hanshu*, the *Junyi* (*鵕䴊*) is in fact the Golden Pheasant (*Chrysolophus pictus*).
