一 正月朔日年始御祝儀 御登 城御病気ニ付御断依之
御使者御番頭毛受長兵衛《割書：教｜洪》を以御太刀馬代被献之

一 正月元日、年始の祝儀のため登城する予定であったが、病気のため辞退し、
使者として番頭の毛受長兵衛教洪を遣わして太刀馬代を献上した
一 同日、御屋形の御居間において年始の祝儀が行われたが、その他の規式は
行わなかった
但し、病気のため御礼を受けることができず、御影長蚫や諸士は自分で
頂戴した
一 同月三日、年始の祝儀として使者番頭毛受長兵衛教洪を遣わして

- On New Year's Day (1st of the 1st month), [the lord] was scheduled to visit the castle for New Year's congratulations, but due to illness, he declined and sent Menuke Chōbei Kyōkō, a guard captain, as his messenger to present a ceremonial sword and horse substitute.
- On the same day, New Year's congratulations were held in the living quarters of the mansion, but other ceremonial procedures were omitted.
Note: Due to illness, he could not receive formal greetings, so the shadow attendant Chōsen and various retainers received them on their own.
- On the 3rd of the same month, Menuke Chōbei Kyōkō was sent as messenger for New Year's congratulations...
