世の人伝承たる所にて候 然るに
東照宮御治世の始慶長七年に及ひて天運
の時至り候故歟神徳の感しいたされ候故歟
天下の宝山一時に開け始めて金銀の生し
出候事我国の始よりこのかたいまた其例
を聞かす これよりして公私貴賤の財用ゆた
かに事足り候のミにあらす 我国の外よりも
金銀を求むへきために渡来候国々其数多く
これによりて又我国の資用もゆたかに事
足り候て今日に至候 皆是
東照宮の神恩にあらすとは申すへからす
寛永年中我国に渡来候事を禁せられ候国々
多しといへとも今に至て年々に渡来候所も其
数猶すくなからす候を以て我国の金銀ハ万
国の宝にすくれ候事世の人又推知へき所
にて候 然るに又慶長より以来或は異国の中
に流れ入或は大災の度に焼うせ或は神社仏
閣衣服器財のために費やし用ひし所凡九
現代語訳
世の人々が語り継いできたところである。そうしたところ、
東照宮（徳川家康）の治世の始まり、慶長七年に至って天の運命
の時が到来したからであろうか、あるいは神徳の感応によるものであろうか、
天下の宝山が一度に開け始めて、金銀が産出する
ことは、我が国の始まりよりこの方、いまだその例を
聞かない。これによって公私・貴賤の財用が豊か
になり事足りるのみならず、我が国の外からも
金銀を求めるために渡来する国々はその数多く、
これによってまた我が国の資用も豊かになり事が
足りて今日に至っている。これは皆
東照宮の神恩でないとは申すべきではない。
寛永年中に我が国への渡来を禁止された国々は
多いといえども、今に至って年々渡来する所もその
数なお少なくないことをもって、我が国の金銀は万
国の宝に優れていることは世の人もまた推察できるところ
である。しかるにまた慶長より以来、あるいは異国の中
に流れ入り、あるいは大災の度に焼失し、あるいは神社仏
閣・衣服・器財のために費やし用いた所、おおよそ九

This is what people have passed down through generations. However,
at the beginning of Toshogu's (Tokugawa Ieyasu's) reign, in the seventh year of Keicho, when the destined time arrived - whether due to heavenly fortune or divine virtue's miraculous intervention -
the treasure mountains of the realm suddenly opened up and began producing gold and silver
in quantities unprecedented since the founding of our country.
This not only enriched the finances of both public and private, noble and humble alike, but also attracted many foreign countries
seeking to acquire gold and silver from our nation.
As a result, our country's resources became abundant and sufficient, continuing to this day.
All of this must be attributed to nothing other than
the divine grace of Toshogu.
Although many countries were prohibited from coming to Japan during the Kanei era,
even now there are still not few places that continue to arrive annually, which demonstrates that our country's gold and silver
are superior to the treasures of all nations - something that people can readily understand.
However, since the Keicho era, some has flowed into foreign countries, some has been lost in great disasters, and some has been spent on shrines and temples, clothing, and implements - approximately nine
