英語訳

[Continuing from the previous page's order to proceed to Edo:] He was to proceed to Edo promptly, issue instructions to the relevant parties, and with utmost sincerity attend to arrangements so that all affairs would be conducted favorably — this was the order issued. One item: On the last day of the same month, he was summoned to the Lord's private chambers. The Lord expressed that it had been burdensome to have been called up in such haste, and also conveyed warm and personal words acknowledging his many years of devoted service at the Lord's side. The Lord personally composed a farewell poem in his own hand and presented it along with a fan bearing the Lord's family crest, personally bestowing these items upon him. One item: On the same day, upon his arrival in the castle following his appointment as permanent attendant (jōzume), the Lord, considering the hardship caused by his sudden departure, issued an order that, as a special measure, thirty ryō in gold be granted to him. One item: On the same day, from the Lord himself, a crested lined-silk vest (katakinu) bearing the Lord's family crest, a piece of brocade, and confections were bestowed upon him. One item: On the same day, he departed in the night, and arrived in Edo early in the morning of the seventh day of the twelfth month. One item: In the twelfth month of the same year, the third year of Bunsei (the Year of the Dragon, 1820): Yanase Sanzaemon was appointed as the general superintendent (sōji) of the wedding ceremonies for Lady Teikain. As he was serving as a permanent attendant (jōzume), he was to take full charge of all arrangements beginning with the duties related to the bridal procession, as well as all Edo-related matters. Furthermore, since important matters would continue after the move, he was ordered to speak frankly about his thoughts and intentions on all matters without reservation, and to attend to the arrangements so that both public and private affairs would proceed favorably. One item: On the twenty-fourth day of the same month, he was summoned to the Lord's private chambers, [regarding] a [sword/item] that he had long possessed and previously [mentioned]...
