御相手之透之書物手習等致稽古自然と其道ニ
御進被成候様可致旨被 仰出候
但隔日ニ両人ツヽ朝五ツ時過罷出両度ツヽ御膳
料之御残ニ而御賄致頂戴夕七ツ半時頃退出
山野を始御慰御出等之節は当番非番ニ不拘
被 召連御供仕候事
一 同年八月 思召を以反物四包被下置候
但此後年々夏冬両度ツヽ反物頂戴被 仰付
此外御内々 思召を以品々不絶頂戴物被 仰付
御殺生御到来之魚鳥茸之類毎度被下置候処
銘々相記不申候事
一 同年十二月
殿様御相手をも精出相勤候ニ付
御同人様より綿壱把被下置候
但此後年々被下置候事
一 同六巳年二月御相手相勤繁多之処学問
年齢ゟ手際宜相聞候ニ付暦史綱鑑補被下置
候事
一 同七午年三月御召古御溜有之候ニ付 思召ヲ以
白御小袖被下置候事
現代語訳
御相手の透(すき)の書物、手習等を稽古させ、自然とその道に御進歩なされるように致すべき旨が仰せ出されました。
ただし隔日に両人ずつ朝五つ時過ぎに参上し、両度ずつ御膳料の御残りで御賄いを頂戴し、夕七つ半時頃に退出いたします。
山野をはじめ御慰みのお出かけ等の節は、当番非番に関わらずお召し連れられ御供仕ります。
一、同年八月 思し召しにより反物四包を下し置かれました。
ただしこの後、年々夏冬両度ずつ反物を頂戴するよう仰せ付けられました。
この外に御内々の思し召しにより品々を絶えず頂戴するよう仰せ付けられ、
御殺生で御到来の魚鳥茸の類を毎度下し置かれましたが、
銘々相記いたしません。
一、同年十二月
殿様の御相手をも精出して相勤めましたので、
御同人様より綿一把を下し置かれました。
ただしこの後年々下し置かれました。
一、同六巳年二月 御相手を相勤め繁多のところ、学問が年齢より手際よく相聞こえましたので、暦史綱鑑補を下し置かれました。
一、同七午年三月 御召古の御溜まりがありましたので、思し召しにより白御小袖を下し置かれました。
英語訳
It was commanded that they should practice calligraphy and other studies suitable for serving as the lord's companions, so that they would naturally advance in these skills.
However, two persons at a time would appear every other day after the morning hour of five, receive meals twice from the leftover provisions of the lord's meals, and withdraw around the evening hour of seven and a half.
When going out for recreation in the mountains and fields, they would accompany the lord regardless of whether they were on or off duty.
1. In the eighth month of the same year, four bundles of cloth were bestowed by the lord's gracious will.
From this time forward, it was commanded that cloth be received twice yearly, in summer and winter.
In addition, various items were continuously bestowed through the lord's private consideration.
Fish, birds, mushrooms and the like obtained from hunting were frequently given, but these individual items are not recorded here.
1. In the twelfth month of the same year
Since they diligently served as the lord's companions,
His Lordship bestowed one bundle of cotton.
This continued to be given yearly thereafter.
1. In the second month of the sixth year (kinoto-mi), while serving as companions was demanding, since their academic progress was heard to be excellent for their age, the "Rekishi Kōkan-ho" (historical text) was bestowed.
1. In the third month of the seventh year (hinoe-uma), since there was an accumulation of old ceremonial garments, a white kosode undergarment was bestowed by the lord's consideration.
