公辺江之御義理合ニ者采女方被残内ニ可有之と
色々打返し評義有之候処采女方被残候而者

有之間敷且役柄と申最初松前ニ而定置候
趣も有之隊下八十人余ニ而調度内々被達候
員数ニも叶組と頭之形も備居彼是手分之
差支も無之旁拙者備被相残度儀併小人数之
上万端不行及拙者ニ候へ者無心許被存ニ而可
有之候へ共賊に接し存分ニ粉骨を尽し
万一不相及節ハ潔く戦死を遂 御家名を

公辺への御義理合いとしては采女方が残られる内にあるべきだと、色々と打ち返して評議があったところ、采女方が残られるのであれば、伝十郎殿が申された通り一同が主将を捨てて先立って引き取るということは決してない筈の儀である。大人数になっては品々差し支えもある由であるならば、とても残られるようには相成らない。拙者は不肖の身分ではあるけれども、席柄世上では政事家老と称される立場にて、公辺へ対して御不都合と申すほどでもないであろうし、且つ役柄と申し、最初松前にて定め置いた趣もあり、隊下八十人余りにて調度内々に達せられた員数にも叶い、組と頭の形も備えており、彼是手分けの差し支えもない。ついては拙者の備えを残していただきたい儀である。併し小人数の上、万端行き届かず拙者であるから、無心許ないと思われることもあろうけれども、賊に接し存分に粉骨を尽くし、万一及ばない節には潔く戦死を遂げ、御家名を汚すほどの見苦しい義はいたさないので、この段は御安堵くださり、拙者を残されるよう御所置ありたい旨を強いて申し述べ、その通りに決まり、今日表立って達しがあった。これにより当隊が残され、火術者酒井伝内の息子富吉、医師村本玄碩・百崎養軒の息子養元が差し添えられ、上下都合八十七人が残されることとなった。
