...changed his name to Sanemon. In the 19th year of Keicho (1614) during the Siege of Osaka, when an uprising broke out in that region and the common people became enemies, Katagiri Tōichimasa sent word from his castle at Ibaraki. Since Sanemon was serving as regional administrator (daikan) for the Kamigata area and was residing in Kyoto at that time, he quickly dispatched to Ibaraki and awaited reinforcements. The fact that he was present in that region before and after both Lords (Tokugawa Hidetada and Ieyasu) arrived at Fushimi reached their ears, and they issued a commendation for his admirable conduct. Later, during the reign of Lord Taitokuin (Tokugawa Hidetada), he became an attendant to Lord Suruga Dainagon (Tokugawa Tadanaga) and was appointed as chief administrator of Kai and Suruga provinces. At this time he was granted an additional 3,500 koku, receiving a vermillion seal for a total of 5,000 koku. After Lord Suruga's downfall, he was placed under the custody of Lord Soma Daizen-no-suke and died there. His son Murakami Jirō Zaemon Mitsumasa was granted his father Yoshimasa's original domain in the 2nd year of Kan'ei during Lord Taitokuin's reign. Mitsumasa's eldest son Sanemon Masanao succeeded to the family headship, and his descendants remain in Edo to this day. Santayu Masamine was Mitsumasa's second son. Summoned to service in the 2nd year of Kan'ei (1625, Year of the Wood Rooster) during Lord Yoshishina's reign, granted succession rights in the 2nd year of Kyōhō (1717, Year of the Fire Rooster) during Lord Yoshikuni's reign: Current Murakami Kinai Masamoto《Birthplace: Echizen Province》 △ Hori Summoned to service in the 5th year of Kanbun (1665, Year of the Wood Snake) during Lord Mitsumichi's reign: ●Hori Shinzaemon Naoshige《Original domain: Mino Province, birthplace: Hitachi Province, family name: Fujiwara》 His ancestor was a descendant of Hori Gondayu Hidetaka, eighth-generation grandson of General Toshihito, and for generations lived in Mino Province. When it came to Hori Kambu Dayu Hidenobu, he held Akanabe within Atsumi District. He served under Saito Yamashiro-no-kami Dosan and later also held 10,000 koku within Ikeda District. Hidenobu's eldest son Hori Tarō Zaemon Hideshige had numerous military achievements. 《At this time, a Owari rōnin named Okuda Sanemon came to rely on Hideshige, so he was retained and later given the name Hori Kenmotsu Naomasa》 Hideshige's son Hori Suketarō Hidemasa served Lord Nobunaga in his youth, and when he distinguished himself on the battlefield, he was given red-threaded armor with irises from Sawabe personally added by hand, with the commendation "May you have advantage in battle." 《Therefore the Hori family uses red-colored armor and irises as their crest》《Also, bamboo from Fuwa Village in Mino Province is used as an auspicious custom for banner poles》 He was entrusted with Sawayama Castle in Omi Province, and later in the 13th year of Tenshō (1585, Year of the Wood Rooster), in the eighth month, he replaced Niwa Gorō Zaemon-no-jō Nagashige and ruled Echizen. In the 18th year (1590, Year of the Metal Tiger), during the campaign against the Hōjō family, he headed toward Yamanaka Castle in Sagami Province and died of illness in camp.
