現代語訳

今年七月、その孫の伯慶が（この書を）梓（版木）に刻んで世に伝えたいと望み、そこで私のもとを訪ねて序文を求めた。よって、つたない言葉をもって序となす。

原敬仲がある日、息子の伯慶を連れて来て、私に（弟子として）預けた。伯慶をして箕裘を継がせ、その祖父に倣わせたいとの意向であった。すなわち伯慶の祖父である雙桂先生とは、平安（京都）の処士（官に就かぬ在野の学者）であり、かつて東涯氏の門下に遊学した。当時、塾中の諸君子の中に、先生の右に出る者はなかった。東涯はしきりに後進の……（中で先生を称えた）
