さまざまな色が濃く混じり合い、あらゆる色彩を尽くして岸辺に寄せてくる貝たちは、まるで錦の浦（錦を敷き詰めたような美しい入り江）のように見えることだ。

英語訳

Shells that wash ashore,
richly mingling every hue,
exhausting all colors—
the inlet where they gather
appears as a cove of brocade.
