同国足羽郡之内十四ケ村
一 鉄砲十四挺
右拙者領分之内廉猪多ク出作毛荒レ百姓迷惑仕候
就夫玉込不申候鉄砲ニ而おとし申度存鉄砲十六挺
當亥ノ六月ゟ同八月迄百姓ニ預ケ申度旨奉願候処
願之通被 仰付候若右之鉄砲ニ玉を込悪事仕出シ
申候歟又ハ殺生なと仕候ハヽ本人ハ不及申ニ名主五
人組迄可為曲事旨急度申付置候此鉄砲之儀作人ハ
不及申ニ縦親子兄弟ニ而御座候共鉄砲預り主之外
余人江借申儀曾而以仕間敷段堅ク可申付候右之趣
相背候ハヽ何様之曲事ニも可申付旨名主五人組
鉄砲預り主方ゟ手形取置申候為其必此御座候

現代語訳
同国足羽郡の内十四ヶ村
一、鉄砲十四挺
右、私の領分の内で猪が多く出て作物を荒らし、百姓が迷惑しております。そのため、玉を込めない鉄砲で追い払いたく存じ、鉄砲十六挺を当亥年の六月から同八月まで百姓に預けたい旨お願い申し上げたところ、お願いの通りお許しいただきました。もしこの鉄砲に玉を込んで悪事を働いたり、また殺生などをした場合は、本人は申すまでもなく、名主・五人組まで罪科とする旨、厳しく申し付けております。この鉄砲の件について、作人（農民）は申すまでもなく、たとえ親子兄弟であっても、鉄砲預かり主以外の他人に貸すことは一切してはならない旨、堅く申し付けます。
この趣旨に背いた場合は、いかなる罪科にも申し付ける旨、名主・五人組・鉄砲預かり主から手形を取り置いております。そのための証文です。

Fourteen villages within Ashiwa County of the same province
Item: Fourteen muskets
Regarding the above, wild boars frequently appear within my domain, destroying crops and causing great hardship to the farmers. Therefore, wishing to drive them away with muskets that do not contain bullets, I requested to lend sixteen muskets to the farmers from the sixth month to the eighth month of this year of the Boar, and this request has been granted as petitioned. Should anyone load these muskets with bullets and commit wrongdoing, or engage in killing of animals, not only the perpetrator but also the village headman and the five-man group will be held accountable, as has been strictly ordered. Regarding these muskets, it has been firmly ordered that not only farmers, but even parents, children, or siblings are absolutely forbidden from lending them to anyone other than the designated musket keeper.
Should anyone violate these instructions, any form of punishment may be imposed. Written pledges have been obtained from the village headmen, five-man groups, and musket keepers to this effect. This document serves as proof thereof.
