[Receipt confirmed]
1. On the 27th day of the first month, when the deputy (rusui) appeared in response to a summons from Lord Honjo Inaba no Kami (Munesuke),
Regarding the New Year's greetings to Lady Keishōin, gifts had been presented, and for this celebratory occasion,
Lady Keishōin privately bestowed five rolls of silk crepe (red and white) and one box of delicacies, which Lord Inaba no Kami conveyed.
Although it was said that sending a courtesy envoy in response to this would be unnecessary, since this was the first such occasion,
with proper acknowledgment, envoy Kawase Jitayū was dispatched to Edo as an expression of gratitude.
1. On the 8th day of the second month, regarding the audience (omemie) for children of retainers, it was considered inappropriate for very young children to appear,
therefore it was decreed that henceforth petitions should be made only for those ten years of age or older.
1. On the 9th day of the same month, an envoy was dispatched to Edo for the monthly inquiry into [the shogun's] well-being.
A reply was received on the 21st day of the same month.
1. On the same day, [the lord] went out to Yoshie for falconry (returned to the castle on the 16th).
1. On the 24th day of the same month, at Jōkōin temple, from dawn on the 22nd until this morning (two nights and three days),
the 33rd memorial service for Lady Daianin was conducted.
Although March would have been the proper time, since it would fall after the departure [for Edo], it was moved up.
1. On the 1st day of the third month,
Lord Kenmotsu ascended to the castle (as decreed on the 29th of yesterday) and received an audience regarding negotiations.
