一、三月二十八日 智高院様の御居間の御普請（改築工事）が完成し、御引き移りがあった。
一、四月十五日 上使として御老中・本多中務大輔（忠良）殿より、国許への御暇（帰国の許可）が仰せ出され、例の通り白銀の御巻物を御拝領した。
右大将様からも附御老中・松平能登守（乗賢）殿より、例の通り御巻物を御拝領した（上使の御取り扱いは例の通り）。右のお礼のため、御老中方へ御廻勤（挨拶回り）をした。
一、同月十八日 御登城して御暇の御礼を申し上げ、例の通り御鷹・御馬を御拝領した。その後、召し連れた御家来・酒井玄蕃（知喬）が御目見えを仰せ付けられ、御巻物二つを拝領するよう仰せ付けられ、相済んだ。御礼のため御老中・若年寄中へ御廻勤をした。
一、同月十九日 御用番・本多中務大輔（忠良）殿より御逢対（面会）があり、御勤めをした。
一、同日 御拝領の御馬を、御用番・本多中務大輔（忠良）殿より使者をもって牽かせてきた。
一、同日 佐竹右京大夫（義峯）殿より、東叡山の火の番（警備）の御代わりを仰せ出されたとの旨、使者をもって申し来たため、右の御届けのため御用番へ御使者を御留守居より差し出した。
一、同月二十二日 明二十三日の御発駕（出発）につき、御案内として御老中方へ御廻勤をした。

Item: On the 28th day of the 3rd month, the renovation of Lady Chikō-in's sitting room was completed, and she moved in.
Item: On the 15th day of the 4th month, Senior Councillor (Rōjū) Honda Nakatsukasa-no-taifu (Tadayoshi) came as the Shōgun's messenger (jōshi) to announce permission for His Lordship's return to his home domain (okuni-gokoro). As customary, a silver gift scroll (o-makimono) was received. From the Minister of the Right (Udaishō), attached Senior Councillor Matsudaira Noto-no-kami (Norikane) also delivered a gift scroll as customary (the reception of the messenger followed customary protocol). As an expression of gratitude, His Lordship made formal courtesy visits (o-kakin) to the Senior Councillors.
Item: On the 18th day of the same month, His Lordship went to the castle to express his gratitude for the permission to return, and as customary received a hawk and a horse as gifts. After this, the retainer he had brought along, Sakai Genba (Tomotaka), was granted an audience (o-mimai) and was ordered to receive two gift scrolls, which was duly completed. As an expression of gratitude, courtesy visits were made to the Senior Councillors and Junior Councillors (Wakadoshiyori).
Item: On the 19th day of the same month, His Lordship had an audience with the Duty Senior Councillor Honda Nakatsukasa-no-taifu (Tadayoshi) and fulfilled his obligations.
Item: On the same day, the horse received as a gift was led over by a messenger from the Duty Senior Councillor Honda Nakatsukasa-no-taifu (Tadayoshi).
Item: On the same day, Lord Satake Ukyo-no-daibu (Yoshimine) sent a messenger to announce that His Lordship had been ordered to take over the fire watch duties at Tōeizan (Kan'ei-ji Temple). In response, the o-rusui (resident representative in Edo) dispatched a messenger to the Duty Senior Councillor to formally report this matter.
Item: On the 22nd day of the same month, as His Lordship's departure was scheduled for the following day, the 23rd, courtesy visits were made to the Senior Councillors to give notice of departure.
