現代語訳
一、四月二十三日 江戸を御発駕（出発）され、東海道を通って御旅行（帰国の旅）をされた。
一、同月二十八日 御使者をもって、例の通り大納言様へ菖蒲の御兜を献上した。
一、五月朔日（一日） 増上寺において、有章院様の御忌（命日法要）の御法事につき、御使者として御番頭・稲葉要人（正章）をもって、御香奠として銀五枚を献上し、同所の方丈へ納めた。
一、同月二日 端午の御祝儀として、御使者をもって例の通り御帷子・御単衣を献上した。
一、同月六日 御着城（福井城へ到着）。
一、同日 右同様のことにつき御礼のため、御使者・高知（家老）の本多左門を江戸表へ差し出した。例の通り、奉書紙・干鯛・鯣・御樽を献上した。左門は今日（六日）福井を出立した。
一、同月十一日 札所両替の儀につき、以下の書付をもって諸月番へ御家老より申し渡した。
先頃、札所両替を差し留め置いたところ、今もって両替が始まらず、差し支え難儀の趣がある由、聞し召され、別して御苦労に思し召されております。よって、差し支えのないよう仰せ付けられました。最前（以前）に相決まりの通り、御領分中において札（藩札）の通用には相違ないことであります。両替を差し留めたことについては、近々両替の儀も仰せ付けられます。銀札については別条（問題）ないことですので、兼ねてのお定め通り通用いたすべきであります。最前、少々金子を受けて遣わすことについては——（次ページへ続く）

Item: On the 23rd day of the 4th month, His Lordship departed from Edo and traveled along the Tōkaidō Road on his return journey to his home domain.
Item: On the 28th day of the same month, a messenger was dispatched to present, as customary, an iris-decorated helmet (shōbu no kabuto) to the Lord Dainagon.
Item: On the 1st day of the 5th month, on the occasion of the memorial service (o-ki hōji) for Lord Yūshō-in at Zōjō-ji Temple, the head of the guard (o-bangashira), Inaba Kaname (Masaaki), was dispatched as a messenger to offer five pieces of silver as condolence money (o-kōden), which was duly submitted to the abbot's quarters (hōjō) of the temple.
Item: On the 2nd day of the same month, as a congratulatory gift for the Boys' Festival (Tango no Sekku), a hemp summer robe (katabira) and an unlined robe (hitoe) were presented via messenger, as customary.
Item: On the 6th day of the same month, His Lordship arrived at the castle (Fukui Castle).
Item: On the same day, as an expression of gratitude for the above, the senior retainer (karo) Honda Saemon of Kochi was dispatched as a messenger to Edo. As customary, hōsho paper, dried sea bream, dried squid, and a ceremonial barrel of sake were presented. Saemon departed from Fukui on this day (the 6th).
Item: On the 11th day of the same month, regarding the matter of the officially designated currency exchange offices (fudasho ryōgae), the following written notice was conveyed from the senior retainers (karō) to all monthly duty officers (tsukiban):
"It has come to attention that, since the suspension of exchange operations at the designated currency exchange offices some time ago, exchange services have still not resumed, causing hardship and inconvenience. His Lordship has expressed particular concern over this matter. Accordingly, it has been ordered that operations resume without delay. As previously decided, the circulation of domain notes (hansatsu) throughout the domain territory remains unchanged. Regarding the suspension of exchange: exchange services will be ordered to resume shortly. As for silver notes, there is no particular issue, and they should continue to circulate in accordance with the previously established regulations.
