- In Tenmei 2 (Toradoshi, year of the Tiger), sixth month: He was appointed as a temporary clerical hire (*monogaki tōza o-yatoi*) at the district office (*gun'yakusho*).
- In the same [Tenmei] 3 (Udoshi, year of the Rabbit), ninth month: He was appointed to serve in a supplementary capacity at the Ogawashō Tsugawa Village Office (*gō'yakusho*), and performed field duties until the twelfth month of the same year.
- In the same year, twelfth month: He was appointed to assist the staff of the village revenue reform office (*gōwarimoto aratame yakusho*).
- In the same [Tenmei] 4 (Tatsudoshi, year of the Dragon): Regarding the collection of the small-plot assessed tax (*kowari gi-osame*) in the northern districts (*kitakata suji*), six years' worth of arrears—from An'ei 7 (Inudoshi) through Tenmei 3 (Udoshi)—had accumulated on a per-tsubo basis. Although this had been reported as a petition from the smallholder farmers (*komae*) of Tsu, there was also evidence of arrears held on the officials' own side. Accordingly, in order to conduct a detailed investigation and collect the outstanding amounts, he was dispatched through an appointed official (*o-hitosashi*) in the ninth month.

He was ordered to proceed on official duty, and after a thorough investigation, arranged for the full collection (*kai-nō*) of one year's arrears (for the Udoshi year) from the four village groups of Koarai, Odatsuki, and Satsukikeitoku. However, it became apparent that demanding full collection of the remaining five years' worth would cause hardship to the smallholder farmers (*komae*). He therefore submitted his considered opinion (*zonzori*), proposing that for those five years' arrears, both the officials' side and the smallholders' outstanding amounts be jointly investigated and resolved, with proper oversight established going forward. He completed his assignment and returned in the twelfth month of the same year.
