Next, the Gon-negi (Deputy Negi) and all shrine officials below him attend in attendance (as in the extraordinary festival).
Next, the sacred broom and sacred wiping cloths and the like are conveyed (as in the Main Shrine [Hongu]).
Next, the two sacred offering stands are removed (as in the Main Shrine; however, hollyhock, katsura, iris, hinoki fan, chrysanthemum cotton, and similar decorations are absent here, as they are presented as offerings from the outer sanctuary [gejin]. Accordingly, the hikage (clubmoss) and sakaki branches from the previous year are removed).
Next, a paper torch is presented from the Negi's side, and the Kataoka Negi, holding it, illuminates the inner sanctuary.
Next, upon completion of the sweeping of the inner sanctuary, the sacred broom, wiping cloths, and the like are conveyed out to the outer sanctuary (following the Main Shrine's procedure).
Next, the Kataoka Negi and those below sweep and clean the steps outside the sacred door and the areas to the left and right (following the Main Shrine's procedure).
Next, the sacred offering stands are carried back into and installed within the inner sanctuary (as in the Main Shrine).

Next, the sacred sakaki branches and hikage grass and the like are conveyed forward (as in the Main Shrine).
Next, the shrine officials each withdraw in order from the most junior in rank, returning again to their seats in the corridor (as in the extraordinary festival).
However, the Gon-negi and Hafuri take their seats in the Norito-ya (prayer hall).
Next, the shrine officials of the auxiliary shrines (massha) each proceed to their respective shrine and sweep and clean the inner sanctuary and so forth (as in the fourth month; however, whether or not the sakaki and hikage grass are presented as offerings depends on the year, following the practice of the Main Shrine).
Next, the five officials (gokan) recite the ritual prayers (norito) (however, after the norito is concluded, the Kannagi proceeds past the august presence [o-mae] and takes his seat beneath the eastern sacred katsura tree of the worship area [o-hai-katsura]. The Shō-gon-kan [regular and provisional officials] proceed through the small garden and take their seats in the eastern corridor. However, the Gon-hafuri proceeds directly from the Norito-ya to the auxiliary sanctuary [gonden]).
Next, the Gon-hafuri advances and closes the sacred door.
