[Right folio: Blank] [Left folio] **Concerning the Sanrōya (Retreat/Vigil Hall)** First, passing through the Nara Shrine, one performs a single bow (*ichiyū*) before the deity's presence, then enters through the opening on the southwest side. One passes before the seats of the Chief Priest (*kannushi*), Senior Priest (*shōnegi*), and Celebrant Priests (*hafuri*), and proceeds to the lower seat. In the service area (*katte*), one puts on one's *shitabakama* (or *tabi*, foot coverings). At the hand-washing station (*temizusha*) to the north, after performing the ritual hand-washing and rinsing of the mouth (*sōkō*), one puts on formal shoes (*kutsu*) before proceeding. However, when proceeding to the *Tsuchiya* (earthen/mud hall), from around the road and the Third Torii gate onward, the *negi* (priests) proceed to the left (south side), while the *hafuri* (celebrant priests) proceed to the right (north side). **Concerning the Manner of Taking One's Seat in the Tsuchiya** The Chief Priest takes the lateral seat (*yokoza*) on the west side. The *negi* proceed directly from the south side to take their seats on the south side. The *hafuri* go around from the lower side to the north, and take their seats on the north side (*kitagawa*), facing south in the north seat (*kitaza*). The bow at the shoe seat (*kutsaza*) and other formalities are as customary. The ritual offerings (*goryō*) are then presented. When departing from that hall, each of the shrine officials (*shashi*) moves from their seat and prostrates themselves (*heifuku*). **Concerning the Manner of Taking One's Seat in the Chōya (Administrative Hall)** *(Remainder of page is blank)*
