一、正月四日、今日御備番庁飯（ごびばんちょうはん）には構わず、例式の通りに案内有之こと。
釿始（ちょうなはじめ）の次第は、朝夕御料（ごりょう）の間に執行するなり。

The Chief Priest (*kannushi*) and Senior Priest (*sōnegi*) proceed along the north side of the wooden fence and ascend via the stone steps. The remaining *negi* priests proceed along the east side of the wooden fence, ascend from the south veranda, and take their seats facing north. They make a single bow (*ichiyū*) with west as the upper direction, facing north, and then settle into their seats. The *hafuri* priests enter through the doorway at the northwest corner, take their seats facing south, make a single bow with west as the upper direction, facing south, and then settle into their seats.

In the eighth year of An'ei, the year of Tsuchinoto-I (己亥, 1779), this is my (*yo*) supplementary duty (*yokin*).
Item: On the 4th day of the 1st month, today one need not concern oneself with the *gobiban-chōhan* (the meal served at the duty office); the usual customary procedures are to be followed, as notified.
The ceremony of the *Chōnahajime* (Ritual Adze-Opening) is to be conducted during the interval between the morning and evening offerings (*goryō*).
