一、本城門
夕方六つ時に閉門し、城代組が開閉を司る。昼夜二人
が当直する。当時の時計は昼夜十二時とし、日の出を六つ、次を五つ、
次を四つ、正午を九つ、次を七つ、日の入りを六つとする。
夜間昼間同じであるため、一時間の長短の差が多い。
一、二の丸門
夕方六つ時に閉門し、朝六つ時に開門する。先手組二人が当直し、常に
女子の入ることを禁止する。
一、追手門
朝六つ時に開門し、夜九つ時（現在の午後十時）に閉門する。御用を
帯びた人は時刻制限後も開門して通行することができる。他所の
人の通行を禁止する。先手組三名が当直する。非常の
際、西方に異変があるときは諸士以上が詰めて警備する。

1. Main Castle Gate (Honjo-mon)
Closes at evening rokutsu (6 o'clock), with the castle deputy group overseeing opening and closing. Two people stand guard day and night.
The timekeeping system of that era divided day and night into twelve hours each, with sunrise at rokutsu (6), followed by itsutsu (5),
then yotsu (4), noon at kokonotsu (9), then nanatsu (7), and sunset at rokutsu (6).
Since nighttime and daytime followed the same pattern, there were significant differences in the actual length of each hour.
1. Ninomaru Gate
Closes at evening rokutsu and opens at morning rokutsu. Two members of the advance guard (sakite-gumi) stand watch, and
women are permanently forbidden from entering.
1. Otemon Gate (Main Entrance)
Opens at morning rokutsu and closes at night kokonotsu (equivalent to 10 PM today). People on
official business may open the gate and pass through after the designated hours. Outsiders
are prohibited from passing through. Three members of the advance guard stand watch. In emergencies,
when there is trouble in the western direction, all samurai of a certain rank and above gather to guard the area.
