此地（このち）は江都（かうと）東南（とうなん）の
佳境（かきやう）にして月（つき）に花（はな）に
四時（しいし）の勝趣（しようしゆ）多（おほ）かる
中（なか）に取（とり）わきて初雪（はつゆき）
の頃（ころ）なとには都下（とか）の
騒人（さうしん）こゝにつとひ
来（き）つゝ亭中（ていちう）の静閑（せいかん）を
賞（しやう）して一杯（いつはい）を酌（くみ）かわし
ては酔興（すゐきやう）のあまり
冬篭（ふゆごも）る梅（むめ）の木（こ）の本（もと）
秋（あき）ならは尾花（おはな）苅（かり）しき
一夜（ひとよ）の夢（ゆめ）を結（むす）ふもまた

この地は江戸の東南の美しい場所で、月や花など四季折々の美しい景色が多くある中でも、特に初雪の頃などには都の風雅な人々がここに集まってきて、茶屋の静かで落ち着いた雰囲気を楽しんで一杯酒を酌み交わしては、酔った勢いで冬ごもりしている梅の木の下で、秋であれば薄の穂を刈り敷いて、一夜の夢を結ぶことも多かったであろう。

This place is a beautiful location in the southeast of Edo, where among the many scenic delights of the four seasons with moon and flowers, especially during the first snowfall and such times, the refined people of the capital would gather here. They would appreciate the quiet and tranquil atmosphere of the tea houses, sharing cups of sake, and in their drunken revelry, beneath the winter-dormant plum trees—or in autumn, spreading cut pampas grass—they would likely often spend the night in dreams.
