How should this matter be handled? However, regarding the official judgment, following the precedent of Jōji era, Tamehisa's punishment for negligent supervision was concluded. And regarding this incident of sacred vestment theft, Sawada Ritual Officer Shige, who was on duty that night, was dismissed from office. Nevertheless, he was immediately restored to his position. Next, during this head priest's tenure, there was a boundary dispute between Kifune and Kuramadera Temple, which repeatedly required official judgment. Following the precedent established in the Bunwa era, it was determined that the location of the first torii and other matters should be investigated by an official envoy. On the 24th day of the 7th month of Ōan 3, Official Envoy Motonura came to conduct the investigation and established the boundaries. However, regarding the expenses for the official envoy's mission, it was said that the shrine administrator and others should handle this matter, and although there were various discussions among the shrine clan members, since no arrangement was made, the clan members first paid 1,000 hiki as their contribution. During this investigation, our shrine and Kuramadera Temple presented their cases with various arguments, and the official envoy reported both parties' statements to Court Official Nakamikado Kurōdo Right Middle Counselor Nobumasa, who submitted them to the court, after which there was an imperial inquiry. Next, during Tamehisa's time, there was a general dispute among the clan members, and to inquire into the details of what crimes the ringleaders had committed in this official matter, on the 28th day of the 6th month of Ōan 2, all the clan members together went to Tamehisa's residence, where he stated that he had no knowledge of the ringleaders' affairs, and continuing until late at night with various discussions, they exchanged written agreements for reconciliation and departed. However, as the ringleader clan members, three men - Senior Officer Otsuru Tsuneo, Governor of Tango Kazusada, and Etchū Naohisa - received imperial censure. Nevertheless, since they received the collective support of all members, their sacred tablets were not removed, and even without serving at the shrine, they continued to receive morning meals and feast provisions for religious ceremonies. During this period, due to the turmoil in the Board of Retainers, for the first time the sacred tablets were transferred to and hung in the administrative building. Next, during Tamehisa's time, on the 16th day of the 8th month of Ōan 3, at the latter part of the hour of the Rooster, while heading to serve at Kifune Shrine, at a place called Hataita-no-Nogaichi, the monks of Kuramadera Temple, without even dismounting, knocked the sacred offerings along with their containers onto the muddy ground, and finally struck the assistant priest and captured Okamoto Ryūjirō-o, who was participating in the sacred guard, taking him to Kuramadera Temple.
