第十九 金銀はくのうりかい 付／積（つもり）の事
一 四寸薄千五百／枚（まい）を三寸にまわしてなにほとゝ
とうときに
○三寸薄二千六百六十六枚六分六りといふ
法に四寸を左右にをきかくれは十六坪になる
これに四寸薄千五百まいかくれは二万四千坪に
なるなりこれを右にへちに／置（おき）○又ひたりに
三寸を左右にをきてかくれは九坪に成是にて
右の二万四千坪を刻は二千六百六十六／枚（まい）六分

第十九 金銀箔の売り買い、ならびに積もりの事
一、四寸箔千五百枚を三寸箔に換算するとどれだけになるかと問うとき
○三寸箔二千六百六十六枚六分六厘という
（計算法）四寸を左右に置いて掛けると、十六（平方寸）になる。これに四寸箔千五百枚を掛けると、二万四千（平方寸）になる。これを右に別に置く。○次に左に三寸を左右に置いて掛けると九（平方寸）になる。これで右の二万四千（平方寸）を割ると、二千六百六十六枚六分六厘とわかる。

○ The answer is 2,666 sheets, 6 bu, 6 rin of 3-sun foil.
Method: Place 4 sun on the left and right (i.e., multiply 4 by 4), which gives 16 (square sun). Multiply this by 1,500 sheets of 4-sun foil, which gives 24,000 (square sun). Set this aside on the right. Next, place 3 sun on the left and right (i.e., multiply 3 by 3), which gives 9 (square sun). Divide the right-hand figure of 24,000 (square sun) by this, and you will find the answer to be 2,666 sheets, 6 bu, 6 rin.
