エビムシ
塩水の池や沼に生息する。全身浅い褐色で背中が透き通っている。
尾はエビのようで
細く節が重なった形をしている。
小さいものは色が黒い。
このものは三月上旬に

なますや残った魚の中に混じっている。アオサなどに
付着する小さな虫で生活するもの。瓶などの器に水を入れて
その中に入れると
走ることが速い。
ワレカラのようで
大きなものに
なるだろう。

負子　大阪ではヒルメシモチと言い、江戸では
カッパと言う。甲羅の上に白い卵を背負うことは図の通り
である。　　下野の方言でオコシウリと言う　　　五月頃甲羅の上
に白い卵を産み付ける。形は米粒の
ようである。
それゆえにこの
名前がある。

Water bug carrying eggs: In Osaka called "Hirumeshi-mochi," in Edo called
"Kappa." It carries white eggs on its shell as shown in the diagram.
In Shimotsuke dialect called "Okoshi-uri." Around May, on the shell
it lays white eggs. The shape is like
rice grains.
Therefore it has this
name.
