　　無益の辛労なく其年の養蚕に利あらすと云事なし
　右箇條 余父（わかちゝ）の志（こゝろさし）を継て養蚕の仕法を広め其益ある事を
　知らしめんか為書記せり父甚之允#1存生の頃伊達郡川 㑨（また）泉屋（いつみや）
　半右衛門と云る者より右之仕法を伝へ受四十年来其 教（おしへ）を守り
　養蚕するに一年として不登（あたらす）と云ことなくに伝て予（わか）試（こゝろ）むる
　事も年久しされは《振り仮名：衣食｜いしゆく｜きものくいもの》は世の中の重きものなれは農業（のふきやう）
　のいとまには桑を植（うへ）養蚕をすべし去なから養蚕を好（この）み多く
　蚕を飼（か）ふといへとも桑不足にしては其 業（わさ）自（おのつから）遂（とけ）かたく利も又薄し
　故に桑の樹藝（うへかた）法は別巻に出すことく蚕種も植置たる桑の
　多少によりて求（もとむ）へし先年奥州にては仙台より北に

　おゐて絹まゆ取の養蚕する所も是なきことに聞伝ひたるに
　父か存生中数條之存慮を
　上へ達し其後は土地所により余木（よぼく）に勝れて桑の世に益ある事
　を往々（だん〳〵）知たる人も多く当時は所々より絹まゆ糸抔も出ると
　みへたり予も又多年之存慮を
　上へ達し自分の入料を以伊達御領の取木苗木をもとめ世上
　へあまねく広め就中北上川通へ蚕種場（こたねば）取立の人もあらん
　かしと如斯（かく）書綴（かきつゝり）たるも父か志をつく志願なるのみ

現代語訳

【右丁】
　　無駄な苦労なく、その年の養蚕に利益がないということはない。
　上記の箇条は、私の父の志を継いで養蚕の仕法を広め、その利益のあることを
　知らしめるために書き記したものである。父甚之允が存命の頃、伊達郡川俣の泉屋
　半右衛門という者よりこの仕法を伝え受け、四十年来その教えを守り
　養蚕するのに一年として失敗ということがなく、私に伝えて私が試す
　ことも年久しい。されば衣食は世の中の重要なものであるから、農業
　の合間には桑を植え養蚕をすべきである。そうはいっても養蚕を好み多く
　蚕を飼うといっても桑が不足しては、その業は自然と遂行しがたく利益もまた薄い。
　故に桑の栽培法は別巻に出すとおり、蚕種も植え置いた桑の
　多少によって求めるべきである。先年奥州では仙台より北に

　おいて絹繭取りの養蚕をする所もこれまでなかったと聞き伝えていたが、
　父が存命中、数条の意見を
　上に達し、その後は土地によっては余木に勝って桑が世に益あることを
　段々と知った人も多く、当時は所々より絹繭糸なども出ると
　見えた。私もまた多年の意見を
　上に達し、自分の費用をもって伊達御領の取木苗木を求め、世上
　へあまねく広め、とりわけ北上川通へ蚕種場を取り立てる人もあるだろう
　かと、このように書き綴ったのも父の志を継ぐ志願であるのみ。

　　There is no useless hardship, and there is never a year without profit in sericulture.
　The above articles were written to continue my father's aspiration to spread sericulture methods and make known their benefits.
　When my father Jinnosuke was alive, he learned these methods from a person named Izumiya
　Hanemon in Kawamata, Date County, and for forty years he followed those teachings in
　sericulture without a single year of failure, passing them on to me for my own trials
　over many years. Since clothing and food are important matters in the world, one should plant mulberry trees and practice sericulture
　during breaks from farming. However, even if one likes sericulture and raises many
　silkworms, if mulberry is insufficient, the work naturally becomes difficult to accomplish and profits are also thin.
　Therefore, as stated in the separate volume on mulberry cultivation methods, silkworm eggs should be obtained
　according to the amount of mulberry planted. In previous years in Ōshū, north of Sendai,

　there were no places practicing sericulture for silk cocoons, as I had heard,
　but when my father was alive, he submitted several proposals
　to the authorities, and since then, many people have gradually learned that mulberry is more beneficial to the world than other trees
　in various locations, and currently silk cocoon thread appears to be produced
　in various places. I also submitted proposals accumulated over many years
　to the authorities, using my own funds to obtain cuttings and seedlings from the Date domain, spreading them
　widely throughout society, hoping that someone might establish silkworm breeding grounds especially along the Kitakami River.
　Writing and compiling this is solely to fulfill my aspiration to continue my father's will.
