一 同日、今日から常盤橋の御屋敷へお引き移りになった。
一 同日、今日から「殿様」とお呼び申し上げるよう、御目付から通達があった。
一 四月二十九日、上使として御奏者番の丹羽式部少輔殿を通じて、御香奠として銀三十枚を拝領した。上使がお越しの際、志摩守様は御門の蹴込まで御名代としてお出迎えになった。
昌昭様については御式台までお出迎えになり、そこから御案内して御書院へお通しした。上意の趣旨をお達しがあった（松平中務大輔の死去につき御香奠として白銀三十枚を下賜する。病気が快方に向かっているとお聞きしていたのでお見舞いもしなかったが、急に重篤となり亡くなられ、ひとしお残念に思し召している）。終了後、御退出の節には、最初にお出迎えした場所までお見送りになり、志摩守様も同様にお見送りになった。この御礼として、御名代の志摩守様が御老中回勤、若年寄中へ御使者として御使番を派遣した。追って京都所司代松平伊賀守殿へ御使者として京都詰の寺沢勘左衛門を派遣した。
ただし、御書状を遣わすべきところ、御幼年につき御使者を派遣したのである。
一 閏四月一日
宗昌様の御逝去につき、江戸表からの御使いである中川主膳、河合彦作が今日福井に到着したので、御家老狛伊勢の宅において、御逝去の件を御家中の面々へ月番御家老が申し渡した。

1. On the same day, [the lord] moved to the mansion at Tokiwabashi from today.
1. On the same day, from today, the metsuke (inspector) issued a directive that [the young heir] should be addressed as "殿様" (lord).
1. Fourth month, 29th day: Through the jōshaban (court attendant) Niwa Shikibu-shōyū as an envoy from above, thirty pieces of silver were bestowed as condolence money. When the envoy arrived, Shima-no-kami served as representative and went out to greet him as far as the gate's kick-board.
As for Masaaki-sama, he went out to greet [the envoy] as far as the ceremonial entrance, and from there guided him to the reception hall. The shogun's intentions were conveyed (thirty pieces of white silver are bestowed as condolence money for the death of Matsudaira Nakatsukasa-dayū. We had heard that his illness was improving, so we did not make inquiries, but his sudden deterioration and death is deeply regrettable). Upon departure, [the lord] saw [the envoy] off to the same place where he had initially greeted him, and Shima-no-kami also saw him off in the same manner. As thanks for this, Shima-no-kami as representative dispatched a messenger from the goyōban to make rounds to the rōjū (senior councilors) and wakadoshiyori (junior councilors). Subsequently, Terasawa Kanzaemon, stationed in Kyoto, was dispatched as messenger to Matsudaira Iga-no-kami, the Kyoto deputy.
Note: Although a letter should have been sent, due to [the heir's] young age, a messenger was dispatched instead.
1. Intercalary fourth month, 1st day:
Regarding Lord Munechika's death, the messengers from Edo - Nakagawa Shuzen and Kawai Hikosaku - arrived in Fukui today. At the residence of senior retainer Koma Ise, the monthly rotation senior retainer announced the death to the members of the household.
