御加増ニ御直被下置残百六拾石御役

伺い順年のため江戸表へ上った際、川島与五右衛門がまたもや老中へ直訴したなどという話が江戸の役所に何となく聞こえてきた事情があったので、それとなく新御預所の検見方の伺い順年については詳しく内々に申し出た趣もあったので、四五日中に出立して上り、伺いの件をよく取り計らうよう仰せ聞かされ、出立して上り、御手寄の方々の所々を回って承り合わせたところ、別に問題もなかったので、なお後々のこともお頼み申し上げ、それに対する御挨拶とともに、右の趣を申し達し、同四月江戸表での御用向きとも済んだので帰った。
一 同年五月、相州常詰物頭・郡奉行・船奉行兼務を仰せ付けられ、席は物頭打込の先輩次第に成し下され、かつ新御預所を取り計らうについては臨時の御用もあり、度々江戸表へ上り、あれこれと勤労したので、格別の訳をもって今までの御役料のうち三十石御加増に御直に下し置かれ、残り百六十石の御役

When he went up to Edo for the regular inquiry year, there were rumors circulating somehow at the Edo government offices that Kawashima Yogoemon had once again made a direct appeal to the senior councilors. Due to these circumstances, he discreetly made detailed internal reports regarding the inspection duties for the new territories during the inquiry year. He was instructed to depart within four or five days, go up to Edo, and handle the inquiry matters properly. After departing and going up, he visited various places and people connected to the domain and made inquiries, but found no particular problems. He then requested continued support for future matters as well, and along with the appropriate courtesies, reported these matters. In the fourth month of the same year, his official business in Edo was completed and he returned.
