　　半夏（ヰソクミ）　『本草』に云う半夏　《割書：和名 保曽久美（ほぞくみ）》

【カラスビシャク（烏柄杓）】
『地錦抄』に曰く、
　　半夏（ハンゲ）

　　　　『月令』に「五月、半夏生ず」とある。
　　　　そもそも夏の半ばに当たるゆえに、
　　　　この名がついた。

『増補多識編』毒草類に曰く、
　半夏（ハンゲ）　
　　《和名》加多保曽比加久李知（かたほぞひかくりち）、またの云い名に加羅須比志也久（カラスビシャク）、増補に波土比須比（バトヒスビ）
　　《異名》守田（シュデン）〔『本草綱目』〕　水玉（スイギョク）〔同〕　地文（チモン）〔『別録』〕
　　《増補異名》和姑（ワコ）〔『本草綱目』〕

半夏、烏の柄杓（からすびしゃく）、また水玉（みずたま）、一名 田守（たもり）。
　　　元寿曰く、唐半夏・琉球半夏・朝鮮半夏の三種あり。

　　Hange (read: Isokumi)　As stated in the "Bencao" (Materia Medica): Hange　《marginal note: Japanese name: Hosokumi (保曽久美)》

【Karasubishaku (Pinellia ternata / Crow's Ladle)】
According to the "Jikinsho" (Chikinsho):
　　Hange (半夏, read: Hange)

　　　　In the "Yueling" (Monthly Ordinances), it states: "In the fifth month, Hange sprouts."
　　　　This is because it grows in the middle of summer,
　　　　hence the name.

According to the "Zōho Tashiki-hen" (Expanded Encyclopedia of Plant Knowledge), section on Poisonous Plants:
　Hange (半夏, Pinellia ternata)

Hange is also called Karasu no Bishaku (烏の柄杓, "Crow's Ladle"), or Mizutama (水玉, "Water Drop"), and another name is Tamori (田守, "Field Keeper").
　　　Genju states: There are three varieties — Chinese Hange, Ryukyu Hange, and Korean Hange.
