養蚕私録序文
人がこの世で生活するとき、三日間食べ物がなければ
飢え、一年間衣服がなければ寒さに凍える。飢えと寒さが
同時に襲ってくれば、たとえ忠実で信義があり、親孝行で
兄弟愛に満ちた人であっても、その志を十分に
実現することはできない。それゆえ聖王は農業と養蚕を
最も重視したのである。
詩経の豳風「七月」の章では「蚕の月には
桑の葉を摘み、あの斧や手斧を取って遠くの楊の枝を伐る」と

Preface to Private Records of Sericulture
When people live in this world, if they have no food for three days, they
will starve; if they have no clothing for one year, they will freeze from cold.
When hunger and cold strike together, even those who are loyal, faithful,
filial, and filled with brotherly love cannot fully
realize their aspirations. Therefore, sage kings placed the highest
importance on agriculture and sericulture.
The "July" chapter of the Bin Feng in the Book of Songs states: "In the month of
silkworms, pick mulberry leaves, take those axes and hatchets to cut the distant poplar branches"
