一 およそ地名・人名・官名等には漢訳があるものも多いが、記憶に馴染みがなく、また国字（ひらがな・カタカナ）で原語を付記するのも無益であるため、国字を用いて直接原語を記す。ただし「英吉利」「佛郎西」のような漢訳を
