In 1839, while in this place, he wrote a book called "Idées Napoléoniennes" (Napoleonic Ideas), which was very widely circulated in the world. This book repeated the arguments of his previously written "Libertés Politiques" (Political Liberties), stating that France should be ruled by a monarch from the Napoleonic dynasty, and describing how the politics of the House of Orleans and their royal succession should be overthrown.
