compared to scattered
ginkgo leaves, but the texture is thin
and the color is yellowish-white with a slight black
tinge. It grows on
decayed stumps of hackberry and
willow trees. Mild, sweet, smooth and delicious.
Bleached and dried ones are rarely
sold in Edo, it is said.
