A figure recorded in Kango
The Kinshi (Mycological Records) states that after prolonged summer rains,
it grows in places where
trees and forests are luxuriant.
It has a black head and red stem,
shaped like a writing brush, soft
and hollow inside. Upon seeing
sunlight it immediately dies.
The base is sticky and slippery, with a slight
odor, it is said.
