但以前独礼をも被 仰付候者故
御通 御目見被 仰付立場之義ハ

appointed to be next to the yōnin monogaki (secretary to the chief retainer).

residence of Yamaguchi Gozaemon.
• Same year, 17th year of the Ne cycle (month unknown): His request to
exchange residences with Matsudaira Yoshiharu was granted.
• Same year, 12th month: His request to change his name to
Jirōemon was granted.
• Genbun 1st year, Tatsu cycle, 10th month, 6th day: Died of illness. Buddhist name: Genshō-in
Zushin Nishin Koji. Burial site: same as above.
