One item: In the fourth month of Tenmei 7 (1787, the Year of the Sheep), in accordance with his father's petition, he was granted his first formal audience (o-memie) with the lord.
One item: In the fifth month of Kansei 2 (1790, the Year of the Dog), he was granted his hereditary stipend of one hundred koku without any discrepancy, and was appointed to the Jōzume Shinbangumi (Permanent Guard Unit).
One item: In the second month of Kansei 3 (1791, the Year of the Boar), he was appointed as a reading and writing instructor (kudokushi) at the Shiba residence.

One item: In the ninth month of the same year, he was appointed to the provisional role of personal attendant (futokoro-mori) to Lady Ryōtoku-in.
Note: He was appointed to this role repeatedly thereafter.
One item: In the tenth month of Kansei 4 (1792, the Year of the Rat), he was appointed to oversee (shimeru) the calligraphy school (shogakuryō) at the Shiba residence.
One item: In the third month of Kansei 6 (1794, the Year of the Boar), he was appointed to the provisional role of escort (o-tomo-kata) to Lord Sadaaki.
Note: He was appointed to this role repeatedly thereafter.
One item: In the first month of Kansei 8 (1796, the Year of the Dragon), in recognition of his diligent service as a reading and writing instructor at the school and his success in nurturing students well, he was awarded two pieces of silver (ginshi) as a reward.
